These coasters feature my tanukis illustration, A Secret Sanctuary. It portrays a family of tanukis (Japanese raccoon dogs) napping and playing in their secluded home, a magical old shrine buried deep in the woods. Unfortunately I never got to see any wild tanukis when I visited Japan, but the setting for my illustration was inspired by a beautiful shrine I saw in Japan on the island of Itsukushima.
Each coaster is 10 x 10 cm with rounded corners. They are made from hardboard with a non-slip cork base, and have a matt laminate finish.
